Mixed Lentils & Beans Dal
I love to use spice blends when making quick meals and like to try out ones from various cuisines from around the world. They help to give a distinct flavor to a dish without having to gather a lot of spices.
Of course, curry spice blend is my favorite! Which is perhaps why I like this recipe so much!
Mixed Lentils & Bean Soup

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Lentils & bean medley soup mix
- 1/2 Medium tomato (finely chopped)
- 1/4 Medium onion (finely chopped)
- 3/4 teaspoons curry powder
- salt (as per taste)
- 1/2 tablespoon cilantro (finely chopped)
Directions
1. | Soak the lentils and beans for about 2-6 hours. Rinse well and transfer to a pan. Add 3 cups of water and bring to a boil. Simmer on low for about 40 to 60 minutes until the beans are cooked tender. |
2. | Add the tomatoes, onions, salt and curry powder. Cook for another 10-15 minutes until the vegetables and beans are cooked to a thick creamy texture. |
3. | Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice or bread. |
