Corn Grits make such a fabulous breakfast! Affordable and delicious!

Add your favrotie nuts and fresh or dried fruit as a topping and you’ve got a well balanced, tasty meal. Here I’ve added cashews, raisins and apple.

Corn Grits

Serves 3
Prep time 5 minutes
Cook time 30 minutes
Total time 35 minutes

  • 1/2 cup corn grits
  • 1 tablespoon cashews (crushed)
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • 1 Medium apple (a sweet variety)


1. In 1/2 cup water soak the raisins for 4-5 hours.
2. When ready place in a blender with half the apple chopped into smallish pieces. Keep this sweet mix to the side.
3. In a pot heat 2 cups of water. When the water starts to boil, add the corn grits to the water slowly, stirring continuously.
4. Add the sweet mix, and half of the cashews.
5. Cook till the corn grits are cooked, about 20-25 minutes.
6. Decorate with remaining apples, chopped, raisins and cashews.
